Point 7 of 8 — Lesson 1 – Boyle, Charles, Pressure Laws and General Gas LawQuestion bank: 4 questions (4 with pictures)
08 Exam tips
- In all Charles's and Pressure Law calculations, temperature must be converted to Kelvin: T(K) = t(°C) + 273.
- Absolute Zero (-273.15°C or 0 K) is the temperature at which ideal gas volume and pressure theoretically equal zero.
- The volume expansion coefficient (αv) and pressure coefficient (βp) for all ideal gases equal 1/273 °C-1.
- Boyle's law assumes constant temperature, Charles's law assumes constant pressure, Gay-Lussac assumes constant volume.
- The Universal Gas Constant R = 8.314 J/(mol.K).
