02 📖 Core Terminology, Scientific Definitions & Glossaries:
🔹 Physiological Support: A temporary, reversible biological support mechanism affecting the plant cell as a whole, governed by the osmotic entry of water into the central vacuole, which expands and exerts hydrostatic turgor pressure against the protoplast and cell wall.
🔹 Structural Support: A permanent, morphological support mechanism involving the chemical deposition of hard, rigid, or impermeable substances (cellulose, lignin, cutin, suberin) on or within cell walls to reinforce tissues and reduce transpirational water loss.
🔹 Sarcomere: The structural and functional contractile unit of a skeletal muscle myofibril, delineated between two successive Z-lines.
🔹 Motor Unit: The functional unit of skeletal muscle contraction, consisting of a single somatic motor neuron and all the muscle fibers (ranging from 5 to 100 fibers) it innervates via its terminal axon arborizations.
🔹 Neuromuscular Junction (Motor End-Plate): The specialized chemical synapse formed between the terminal axon branch of a motor neuron and the receptive sarcolemma of a skeletal muscle fiber.
