02 Laws and key relationships

  • General nth Term of a Geometric Sequence: [ Formula: Tn = a × r^(n - 1) ] Where a is the first term, r is the common ratio, n is the term position.
  • Sum of First n Terms (Sn): [ Formula: Sn = [a × (1 - rn)] / (1 - r) = (a - l × r) / (1 - r) ] Valid for r ≠ 1, where l is the last term.
  • Sum to Infinity (Sinf): [ Formula: Sinf = a / (1 - r) ] Strict condition: |r| < 1 (convergent series).
  • Compound Interest Growth Law: [ Formula: A = P × (1 + R / 100)n ] Where P is principal, R is interest rate per period, n is number of periods.
