01 0. Overview
- In Modules 2 to 6 we studied the properties of water itself and the way organisms adapt to them.
- This module studies three external factors that determine which organisms can live where in an aquatic ecosystem and how healthy the ecosystem is:
- Part A (Lesson 1-7): the effect of dissolved atmospheric gases — oxygen and carbon dioxide.
- Part B (Lesson 1-8): the effect of light and solar radiation.
- Part C (Lesson 1-9): the effect of water pressure.
Each part joins chemistry (solubility, acids and carbonates), physics (waves, absorption, fluid pressure) and biology (respiration, photosynthesis, adaptation).
