Factoring by Grouping

When to use factoring by grouping

When to use factoring by grouping

  • Factoring by grouping is used for expressions with four or more terms, especially when not all the terms share one common factor.
  • We divide the terms into two groups, each with its own common factor.
  • After taking out the common factor of each group, a common bracket appears, and we can take it out as well.
