The Sine Rule
Explanation
Lesson summary
Lesson summary
In any triangle, a / sin A = b / sin B = c / sin C = 2R.
Use the sine rule when two angles and a side are known, or two sides and a non-included angle are known.
The ambiguous case may give two triangles, so check the sum of the angles for each value.
The three angles of a triangle add up to 180°, and each angle must be positive.
