Explanation
Lesson summary
Lesson summary
A pyramid is a solid whose base is a polygon and whose lateral faces are triangles meeting at one apex.
A regular pyramid is a right pyramid whose base is a regular polygon, and its lateral faces are congruent isosceles triangles.
A right circular cone has a circular base, and its axis is perpendicular to the base; it satisfies l² = r² + h².
In a regular pyramid the slant height satisfies l² = h² + m², where m is the distance from the centre of the base to the midpoint of a side.
