What is a chemical reaction?
What is a chemical reaction?
- A chemical reaction is a process in which chemical bonds between the atoms of the starting substances are broken, and new bonds are formed between the atoms to give new substances called products.
- The starting substances are called reactants.
- A chemical reaction changes the chemical composition of matter, so the products have properties that are completely different from those of the reactants.
