Properties of the mean
- If we add the same number to every value, the mean increases by that number.
- If we multiply every value by the same number, the mean is multiplied by that number.
- If we remove a value from the set, the mean changes according to that value and the number of values that remain.
- For repeated values, multiply each value by its frequency, add these products, then divide by the total of the frequencies.
