- The arithmetic mean = sum of the values ÷ number of values. It is a measure of central tendency.
- A missing value can be found when the mean is known multiply the mean by the number of values, then subtract the sum of the known values.
- In a frequency table, multiply each value by its frequency and divide by the total of the frequencies.
- Adding new values changes the mean according to their sum and the new total number of values.
