Coplanar concurrent forces are forces acting in one plane whose lines of action all pass through one point.
The resultant is a single force that has the same effect on the body as the whole set of forces.
If the resultant is zero, the body is in equilibrium.
To find the resultant we use the method of components we resolve each force into a horizontal and a vertical component, then add all the horizontal components together and all the vertical components together. This gives the two components of the resultant.
